PROGRAM OF REDUCTION OF PHYSICAL AND COMMERCIAL LOSSES OF THE WATER NETWORK OF DJIBOUTI
L’objectif de ce projet est de :
• développer un programme permettant de réduire significativement et durablement les pertes physiques et commerciales du réseau d’eau potable de Djibouti ;
• définir l’assistance technique à mettre en place pour aider la Cellule Réduction des Pertes qui coordonnera la mise en œuvre de ce programme;
• élaborer les Dossiers d’Appel d’Offres pour les travaux de réhabilitation et pour les services d’assistance technique.

Description of WMI services


  • Rehabilitation of ONEAD premises (walls, frames, electricity, plumbing, installation of air conditioning);
  • Procurement of equipment and construction of a rudimentary water meter test bench for meters DN 15 and DN 20 mm;
  • Definition of a representative consumer panel based on the analysis of extractions from the ONEAD Customer database;
  • Replacement of the panel meters by metrological volumetric meters with high metrological performance (R 400);
  • Verification of the accuracy of the panel meters using the test bench;
  • Establishment of the consumption profiles of the panel customers;
  • Training of ONEAD staff to the installation of loggers;
  • On the job training of ONEAD staff to the use of the meter test bench.

Key results


  • Creation of a Water Meter Management Plan;
  • Construction of a rudimentary water meter test bench DN15/DN20 mm;
  • Replacement of a representative panel of 50 water meters (DN15/DN20 mm) on the whole perimeter of Djibouti and installation of volumetric water meters with high metrological  performance (R 400);
  • ONEAD staff trained for network optimization.
